I love games, obviously. I've loved games for a long time. When I was about six I got $20 to playtest a board game. I've been playing games ever since. When my husband suggested that I design a game I didn't think I had any ideas. But once the seed was planted ideas started to come to me.
And I realized that board game design combines a lot of things that I really like. I have an MA degree in Writing and a BA in English. I've been a fiction writer and a blogger. So board game design utilizes my story telling skills. It also involves graphic design and artwork, which I never formally studied but really like doing. And then I like puzzling through things.
The name Not Target Audience comes from a friend of mine who was teasing me about how much I like the video game Skylanders, which is designed for, like, nine-year-old boys and I'm a thirty something wife and mom! I don't think there's many people designing with my demographic in mind.
